First Pipistrel Electric Aircraft mechanics and service center personnel graduate from the Pipistrel Academy.
In early June 2019 our first Pipistrel Trained Mechanics and Service Center personnel graduated from their week long training program held over 3 locations in Slovenia and Italy.
Our new service personnel are being rolled out around the world to support the ever growing fleet of electric aircraft being produced by Pipistrel.
The training course covered the unique aspects of fully electric aircraft drive-trains including: high voltage batteries, power switching electronics, inverters, low voltage canbus system controllers, and electric aircraft motors.
The in-depth syllabus included canbus control diagnostics, firmware updates, energy safety system structure and management.
Training included both air and water cooled battery packs, inverters, and motors.
The training was to regional service-centre level and included:
- Tear-down and diagnosis of the entire electric propulsion system
- Internal component replacement and rebuild of high-capacity, high voltage energy storage packs, including understanding all the needed safety precautions
- Removal, component replacement and re-installation of the complete end-to-end electric drivetrain
Our Service Centre personnel are now covering Europe, USA, Australia and Oceania regions
This roll-out further reinforces Pipistrel’s commitment to the safe introduction of Electric and Hybrid aircraft.
